Christian Jansen Award
For longest FAI Badge flight of Harris Hill by a HHSC member
Christian Jansen was a citizen of France in the US on assignment (Corning Inc.) for several years. He was an active member of HHSC in the late 1970’s – early 1980’s and known for hismany hours spent flying long cross country flights from Harris Hill.
A year after returning to France, Christian was killed in a glider accident in Spain.
The Christian Jansen Award goes to the pilot with the longest FAI Badge flight of Harris Hill.In the event of multiple qualifying flight of the same distance, the Awards Committee may evaluate other factors to determine the winner, such as other FAI badge flights by same pilot or other documented cross country flights.
From time to time, the Awards Committee may elect to present the award to other major cross country flight achievements by a HHSC member, such as a NY State record flight or World Record flight.
Recipient receives a Certificate and financial credit for tow and glider rental.
